A memorial service will be held Sunday, February 28, 2021 at 3:00 PM at Grace Chapel Church. The family will receive friends following the service. Covid precautions will be followed and the family requests that guests please wear masks.
Honor Rea Christian Lett, 86, born October 15, 1934 of Sanford died Tuesday December 15, 2020 after suffering from a stroke.
A native of Lee County Honor attended Broadway School where she was voted Most likely to succeed and where she met Lux Wayne Lett and married him January 31, 1953. This year they observed 67 years of marriage.
She is survived by three children, Diane Lett Thomas and husband Russell of Sanford, Allan Wayne Lett and wife Darlene of Siler City, Treasure Lett of North Myrtle Beach, SC, Grandchildren are Brad Thomas, Lisa Womble, Phillip Lett, Sarah Lett, Daniel Lett, and Dustin Lett. Great grandchildren are Madisyn, Taylor and Destry Lett, Dylan and Julie Thomas, One sister, Debbie Christian Hutchens, of Sanford, brother W. H. Christian, Jr. and sister-in-law Maxine Thomas Patterson of Broadway, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins.
Honor Rea was preceded in death by her parents, William Herbert and Nora Christian. A brother Preston Christian, her son Kenneth Dale Lett and her grandson Charlie
Honor Rea was well-known as a hairdresser from 1958 to 2016, located first at the Wilrik Beauty Shop on Wicker Street in downtown Sanford and later moved her shop beside her home in Tramway.
The Lett family attended Grace Chapel Church where she served as Sunday school secretary for Annie Belle Register Sunday School Class for 50 years. Honor’s passions included shopping, decorating wedding cakes, time at the beach and family.
