Herman Lawson Obituary

Herman Cornelious Lawson, age 90, of Sanford, NC, passed away on Saturday, January 25, 2020 at Central Carolina Hospital with his family by his side.

He was born on September 28, 1929 in Surry County to the late William McKinley Lawson and Pearlie Irene Gibbons Lawson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers Claude Lawson, Esker Lawson, Hilmer Lawson; sisters, Lethia Jamerson, Lula Gregory, Lelar Cooper and Gladys Haire. Herman was a member of Salem Presbyterian Church. He retired from the tool & die industry. After retirement, he enjoyed traveling, square dancing with his beautiful wife and spending time with his family. His quite sense of humor will be greatly missed.

Herman is survived by his wife who he called “darling”, Margaret Jones Lawson; daughter, Gloria Lawson Thomas and husband, Barry; son, Joseph Herman Lawson; brother, Lonnie Lawson; sister, Sarah Francis Scism; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held at a later date.
