Helmut Andrew Vogt, age 95, of Cameron, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on December 1, 2025. Born in Germany on April 29, 1930, he was the son of Albin Vogt and Anna Mueller Vogt, both of whom preceded him in death, as well as his brother, Otmar Vogt.
Helmut married the love of his life, Irma Zitzmann Vogt, in 1957. Together they built a beautiful family and a life filled with love until her passing in 2014.
He is survived by his six children; Andrew Vogt of North Myrtle Beach, SC, Susan Hintze (Jim) of Manorville, NY, Cynthia Gladden (Don) of Cameron, NC, Ronald Vogt (Kathleen) of Manorville, NY, Mary Bridschge (George) of Cameron, NC, Melinda Chiocchio (Jerry) of Miller Place, NY, 15 grandchildren, 3 great-granddaughters, and his loving sister, Irma Steinbrecher of Miller Place, NY.
Helmut was a master carpenter on Long Island, New York, where he worked with exceptional skill and craftsmanship. He moved to North Carolina in 1990, where he became a devoted member of St. Stephen The First Martyr Roman Catholic Church in Sanford and a proud member of the Knights of Columbus.
Remembered as a kind, loving, and hardworking man, Helmut lived a life grounded in faith, family, and integrity. His legacy will live on through the many lives he touched and the family he cherished.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, January 8, 2026 at 2:00 PM at St. Stephen The First Martyr Roman Catholic Church with Deacon Bob Bridwell officiating.
