Helen (Tickle) Wester

Helen Tickle Wester, age 72, of Sanford, passed away on Monday, March 22, 2021 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center after a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born in Asheboro, North Carolina on May 3, 1948 to the late James Rogers Tickle “Pete” and Mary Magdalene Nichols “Maggie”.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Carl Tickle “Junior”, Calvin Tickle and Earl Tickle.  Helen was a member of Olivia Presbyterian Church.  She worked many years at Coty.

Helen is survived by her loving husband, James Wester; son, Scott Wester and wife, Angie of Sanford; daughter, Ann Godwin and husband, Jimmy of Moncure; grandchildren, JR Godwin, Taylor Godwin, Nolan Wester, Rylan Wester; step-grandchildren, Anna Yow and Bailey Smith and husband, Jordan and step-great-grandchildren, Paisley Yow and Ayden Smith.

The funeral service will be held at Olivia Presbyterian Church on Wednesday, March 24, 2021 at 11:00 am with Rev. George Walton and Rev. Bob Johnson officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends following the service in the fellowship hall.
