Helen (Wicker) Weathers

Helen Wicker Weathers, age 91, of Sanford, NC, passed away Saturday, January 31, 2026 at her home with her family by her side.

She was born in Lee County on September 10, 1934 to the late Levi Kendall Wicker and Lucille Atkins Wicker. In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her husband, of 67 years, Harold Wilson Weathers, who just passed December 8, 2025 and siblings Bobby Wicker and Marian Wicker.

Helen is survived by her son Wilson Weathers and wife, Dawn; siblings Jack Wicker and wife Joyce, Elizabeth “Lib” Pilson, Faye Rosser, Cecil Wicker and numerous special nieces and nephews.

Helen was a longtime and one of the oldest living members of Edgewood Presbyterian Church.  She served, for over 40 years, as the Treasurer of the church and was awarded, in 1991, Women of the Church Lifetime Membership.  Helen served in every facet of the church as her health allowed.  If she saw a need, she just did it.  Outside of church, Helen volunteered for Meals on Wheels for over 40 years and took great pride in her yard.  Neighbors enjoyed her azaleas and beautiful manicured yard.

The family will receive friends at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home on Sunday, February 8, 2026 from 1:00 PM to 1:50 PM with the funeral service following at 2:00 PM in the chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Brian Caldwell officiating.  Burial will follow at Cameron Grove Cemetery.
