Helen Jenette (White) Hilliard

Helen Jenette White Hilliard, age 82, of Sanford, NC, passed away Thursday, October 5, 2023 at Central Carolina Hospital.

She was born in Alabama on June 22, 1941 to the late Ray White and Mertis Cardwell White.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Chad Beal; siblings Bonnie Sherfield, Sue Johnson, Jean McClure and Norman White.  Helen worked as a seamstress, many years ago, for the Blue Bell factory.  She enjoyed Bingo, playing cards and NASCAR, especially Dale Ernhardt, Sr.  

She is survived by her husband Donald Wayne Hilliard; sons Raymond “Ray” Thompson (Lois) of Sanford, David Thompson (Kathy) of Virginia; daughter Esther Beal of Sanford; brother Donald White of Alabama; sister Shirley Jones (Randy) of Alabama and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Sunday, October 8, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home.  The funeral service will be held Monday at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home with Pastor Terry Pleasants officiating.  Burial will follow at Lee Memory Gardens.
