Harvey D Hobson

Harvey D Hobson, 80, of Sanford, NC, passed away on Friday, January 8, 2021 at his residence.

He was born in Harnett County on July 27, 1940 to the late Harvey James Hobson and Lou Annie Gregory.  He was also preceded in death by a brother and six sisters; a daughter, Pamela Sue Davis; a grandson, Harvey Daryl Hobson.  Harvey worked at Lee Iron and Metal as a maintenance supervisor, retiring after 43 years.  Harvey was an avid fisherman, loved working in his yard, especially gardening and tinkering in his shop.

Surviving relatives include his wife Doris T. Hobson of the home; two sons, Harvey D. Hobson Jr of Cameron and Kenneth Wayne Hobson and Shawn of Sanford; daughter Debbie C. Preston and Dennis of Sanford and Rebecca Lynn Bouchard of Sanford; sisters Annie Patterson of Broadway, Willa Dowd and Fred of Sanford, Minnie Williams and William of Sanford, Joann Partin of Lillington, and Rosie Covington and Odell of Hamlet; twelve grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren; and two special nephews, Nathan and Garland Norris of Lillington.

The family will receive friends at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home on Sunday, January 10, 2021, from 5 to 7PM.  A graveside service will be held Monday, January 11, 2021, 11AM, at Buffalo Cemetery with Sherry Baird and Pastor Ralph Baker presiding.
