Harold Wayne Godfrey

Harold Wayne Godfrey, Sr., age 81, of Sanford, NC, passed away Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital.

He was born in Lee County on August 24, 1940 to the late Glen Godfrey and Nettie Spivey Godfrey.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by grandson Danny Lee Godfrey, Jr.; several brothers.  Mr. Godfrey worked many years as a vinyl siding installer and contractor.  He enjoyed hunting and being with his family.

Harold is survived by his loving wife Treva Salmon Godfrey; daughter Tammy Godfrey Overton and husband Ben of Sanford; four sons Wayne Godfrey, Jr. and wife Kim of Sanford, Danny Godfrey and wife Michelle of Sanford, David Godfrey and wife Nikki of Broadway and Shane Godfrey of Sanford.

He is also survived by brothers G.W. Godfrey and wife Shirley of Seven Lakes, Ralph Godfrey and Brenda of Winston-Salem and Eddie Godfrey and wife Teresa of Sanford and sister Doris Swain.  Grandchildren Thea Sasser and Brian, Jason Van Wayne Godfrey, Bobby Chad Godfrey, Teah Mouzakes and Jeremy, Dexter Ryan Godfrey, Taylor Paige Godfrey, Addyson Leigh Godfrey; great-grandchildren Brianna Crowder and Dillon, Leah Sasser, Braylen Mouzakes, Dani Lee Mouzakes; and great-great-grandchildren Leanna Crowder and Marshall Crowder.

A funeral service will be held Friday, November 26, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Solid Rock Community Church with Pastor Brad Marona, Pastor Ralph Smith and Pastor Vernon Riggins officiating.  Burial will follow at Center United Methodist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends two hours before the funeral service (12:00 PM to 2:00 PM) at the church and other times at the family home.
