Gwendolyn "Gwen" Walker Obituary

Gwendolyn “Gwen” Eleene Eason Walker, 78, of Farmville, North Carolina, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on October 20, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Norfolk, Virginia, on May 28, 1947, Gwen was the daughter of the late Willard Smith Eason and Axie Galloway Eason. She was also a beloved twin.

Gwen attended Atlantic Christian College, where she met the love of her life, Henry Maurice Walker, II. The two shared a very special and loving relationship and were happily married for 57 years—a true testament to their faith, devotion, and partnership in life.

She is survived by her husband, Henry Maurice Walker, II; daughter Paige Walker Pearson and husband Tim of Rocky Mount, NC; and son Fedd Smith Walker and wife Abby of Sanford, NC. Gwen also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren, Matthew Pearson, Jonathan Pearson, Grace Walker Wicker (Landon), and Mollie Walker, who brought immense joy to her life.

She is also survived by her sisters, Linda Moore (Jim) of Newport News, VA, and Carol Barrett (C.D.) of Elm City, NC; and her sister-in-law Vicki Drummond of Fremont, NC.

Over the years, Gwen lovingly served her family and community as a homemaker, substitute teacher, bank secretary, and insurance office assistant. No matter her role, she brought kindness, grace, and compassion to everyone she met.

Gwen loved the beach, the mountains, shopping, and spending time with people—but nothing meant more to her than her family and grandchildren. A devout Christian, Gwen lived out her faith daily and inspired others by her example, always leading those around her closer to Christ.

Her radiant smile, caring heart, and steadfast faith will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.

A celebration of life service will be held on Friday, October 24, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Farmville.  The family will receive friends following the service at the church.
