Grace Cox McNeill, age 73, died Sunday, March 14, 2021 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Lee County, NC on September 2, 1947 to the late Doyle Sheppard Cox and Attie Lee Sloan Cox. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Phoenix Mitchell McNeill and siblings Calvin Cox, Harold Cox, and Betty Jean Cox. Grace was a member of Morris Chapel United Methodist Church and retired after 25 years of service from Moen. Prior to Moen, she worked for Koury Company and AJ Schneirsons. She enjoyed cooking and volunteering for the Cameron Hill Community Outreach Center and working for Spivey Farms helping Frankie sell his produce. She was an excellent seamstress and sewed for family and friends.
Grace is survived by her two daughters Paula McNeill McGehee and husband Tony of Broadway, Michelle McNeill Parker and husband Gregory of Olivia; brothers Roy Cox and wife Peggy of Sanford, Don Cox and wife Bobbie of Tennessee; sisters Naomi Hillon and husband Charles of Haymarket, VA; sister-in-law Ruth Cox of Mamers; grandchildren Kellie McGehee Moshier and fiancé Lance Donithan, Chance Miller McGehee, Kirstin Danielle McGinty, Megan Lauren McGinty, step-grandsons Grant Franklin Parker and Blake Ashton Parker; and step-great-grandson Jaxon Donithan.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, March 17, 2021 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home and at other times at Grace’s home, 1564 Barbecue Church Rd., Sanford, NC. A funeral service will be held Thursday, March 18th at 1:00 PM at Morris Chapel United Methodist Church with Rev. Michael Edwards officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
