Grace Marie (Patterson) Gillis

Grace Marie Patterson Gillis, age 83, of Broadway, NC, died Thursday, March 25, 2021 at her home.

She was born in Harnett County, NC on January 11, 1938 to the late Paul Patterson and Zula Cummings Patterson.  In addition to her parents, she as preceded in death by sons Paul Gillis and wife Frances, Cecil Pat Stewart, Jr., and brothers Delmas and Clayton Patterson.  Grace worked for Coty and worked many years at Moen before her retirement.  She was a member of Juniper Springs Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband, of 60 years, James Robert “Bob” Gillis; daughter Renee Gillis Hunter and husband Jeffrey of Sanford; grandchildren Morgan and Megan Hunter; and special caregivers Brenda Womack and Edna Hill; and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may come by the funeral home Saturday, March 27, 2021 from 10:00 AM till 11:45 AM to pay their respects to Grace.  A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday at Juniper Springs Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor John Hackney officiating.

Grace’s son, Cecil Pat Stewart Jr.’s cremains will be lovingly placed in the casket with his mother.
