Gloria Kennedy Key, age 95, of Lemon Springs, NC, passed away Thursday, May 28, 2026 at Westfield Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.

She was born in Lee County on April 3, 1931 to the late Daniel Gilmer Kennedy and Stella Johnson Kennedy.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Jack Leon Key and all of her siblings including Paul Everett Kennedy, Elwood Kennedy, Gladys Kennedy Rouse, John T. Kennedy, Billy Kennedy, Gilmer “Junior” Kennedy and Doris Kennedy Butner.

Gloria is survived by her children Larry Key (Vicky), Barry Key (Fran), Diane K. Bryant and Robin K. Moore (Steve).  She is also survived by grandchildren Brandon Key (Orfilia), Brittany Key (Larry), Chris Key (Sarah), Karla Metro (Adam), Keith Bryant, Gregg Bryant (Amy), Josh Moore (Mary Grace), Preston Moore (Alex); 20 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

She was a long-time member of Lemon Springs Baptist Church and loved her Sunday School Class and all the ladies she worshiped with.  Years ago, she worked in tobacco alongside her family.  Gloria was a loving caregiver to many people throughout the years and was very social. She will be missed by everyone who knew and loved her.

A graveside service will be held Monday, June 1, 2026 at 1:00 PM at Lemon Springs Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Brian Caldwell officiating.  The family will receive friends immediately following the graveside.
