Gladys Griffin (McIver) Webster

Gladys Griffin McIver Webster, age 93 of Pittsboro, passed away on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at UNC Hospice Home in Chatham County.

She was born in Chatham County on June 30, 1924 to the late Albert Gough McIver and Claytie Griffin McIver.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Clarence W. Webster and her brother, Hoyle McIver.  Gladys worked for many years as a secretary for Chatham County Department of Social Services.

Gladys is survived by her sons, Clarence Dale Webster and wife, Marie of Pittsboro, Steven Douglas Webster and wife, Resa of Pittsboro, Richard Hoyle Webster and wife, Teri of Pittsboro; one daughter, Sandra Kay Webster Angel of Sanford; five grandchildren, Whitney Ellis, Carrie Howard, Audrie Sa, Austin Webster, Andrew Webster and by two great-grandchildren, Ace Ellis and Vivianna Sa.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 25, 2018 from 2:30 PM to 4:00 PM at Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church.  The funeral service will follow at 4:00 PM with Rev. Ray Gooch officiating.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.
