George Stanley Obituary

Pastor George Allen Stanley, age 90, of Sanford, NC, died Saturday, January 30, 2021 at First Health Moore Regional Hospital.

He was born in Rockingham County, NC, on December 31, 1930, to the late Israel Noah Stanley and Ethel Jones Stanley. George served his country in the US Army and was a Pastor of the Baptist Gulf House of Prayer. He was preceded in death by his wife, Catherine Stanley; sisters, Lorene Beal and Geneva Poindexter.

He is survived by his sons, Lanny Allen Stanley and Brenda of Snow Camp and Darrell Stanley and Shirley of Sanford; daughter Diane Jackson and Charles of Sanford; sister, Willie Mae Jourdan of Bear Creek; grandchildren, Jake, Aaron, Amy, Alyssa, Bill, Tracy, Joshua and April; eleven great grandchildren; and one great great-grandchild.

The family will hold a memorial service at a later date.
