Gaye (Jones) Foster

Gaye Jones Foster, age 73, of Siler City, NC, died Friday, February 19, 2021 at her home.

She was born in Hoke County, NC on April 4, 1947 to the late James Russell Jones and Mary Opal Mays Jones.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Randolph “Randy” Bruce Foster.  Gaye had worked for the Pantry Offices.

She is survived by daughters Kimberly F. Wilson and husband Addrian of Iva, SC, Amy Suzanne Unger and husband Matthew of Sanford, NC, Julie Anne Crawford and husband Miles of Sanford; son Jamie Ashworth and wife Christy of Fuquay-Varina, NC; grandchildren Jonathan R. Wilson and wife Andrea, Matthew P. Wilson and wife Shawna, Zachary H. Wilson and wife Casey, Hannah M. Wilson, Stephen M. Unger, Zoie Michele Unger, Jessica Anne Gurganus and husband Ben, Hailey Brooke Crawford, Riley Ashworth, Archer Ashworth and 7 great-grandchildren.

She is also survived by brothers James M. Jones and late wife Aida; Johnny R. Jones and wife Mary Rose Jones – who was like a sister to Gaye; sisters-of-the-heart Susan Modlin and Mel Hester.  Family meant everything to Gaye.

It was a joy to spend her last years near her family in Siler City.  Having her nieces, Wanda and Angela spending time with her and sharing laughter meant everything to her. Her nephews, Terry and Michael, and Michael's wife Mary and niece Lisa brought much joy to her life as well with visits and phone calls.

She loved having Mary Rose, her "sister" and friend for over sixty years, just minutes away, and she helped to make her days bright and full of laughter and comfort.
