Fred Louis Lynn, Sr.

Fred Louis Lynn, Sr. age 69, of Sanford, NC, passed away Sunday, November 17, 2024 at his home, after a lengthy illness, with his family by his side.

He was born in Spartanburg County, SC on January 9, 1955.  He was the third child of his late parents, Adrian Gordon Lynn, Sr. and Elva Faustine Mathis Lynn.

A graduate of James F. Byrnes High School in Duncan, SC, he joined the US Air Force serving for 6 years and was so proud to serve his country.  After separating from the military, he was employed in the pharmaceutical industry for 25 plus years in various positions in five States.  He retired from Glaxo Smith Kline in 2007.

Fred is survived by his wife, of 44 years, Myra West Lynn; one daughter Kacie Lynn Brown (Jason) and one son Fred Louis (JR) Lynn, Jr.; two grandchildren Brody West Brown and Sloane Kennedy Brown; one brother Adrian Gordon Lynn, Jr. (Nancy) and one sister Lynda Lynn Padgett (Donnie); one sister-in-law Jane West Warren (Dean) and one brother-in-law James West (Tammy) and a host of beloved nieces and nephews.

A very special thank you is extended to Amedysis Hospice Care and their staff for the excellent care they provided, for the past 2 years.  Special thanks to his aides Jim, Davon, Nurse Practicioner Sean, Chaplain Allen Winters, Nurse Stephen and so many wonderful nurses.

A celebration of Fred’s life will be held Saturday, November 23, 2024 at 3:00 PM at Grace Chapel Church with Rev. Joel Murr, Dr. Royce Baker and Rev. Donald Padgett officiating.  The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the sanctuary.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Grace Chapel Church Children’s Ministries or Amedysis Hospice.
