Foy "Gin" Jennings Morton

Foy Jennings Morton “Gin”, age 81, of Sanford, NC, passed away on Saturday, July 25, 2020 at his home.

He was born in Norwood, North Carolina on March 25, 1939 to the late Grover Thomas Morton and Annie Lorine White Morton.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Veronica Morton Green; sister, Jewell Bean; brothers, Ernest Morton and Wayne Morton. Mr. Morton was retired from the Lee County School Bus Garage. He worked for the last seventeen years with Lee County General Services Convenience Center.

He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara; sons, Paul Goins (Molly), Vernon Morton (Angel), Jesse Goins (Carol) and Reid Morton (Brandy); daughters, Vicky Miller (Gerald), Jenny Morton Thacker and Courtney Clack (Michael); sister, Shelby Jean Rouse; sister-in-law Joy Morton; twenty-two grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 29, 2020 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Kendale Acres Church.  The funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM with Rev. Doug Western officiating.  Burial will follow in Poplar Springs United Methodist Church Cemetery.
