Floyd D. Matthews

Floyd D. Matthews, age 90, of Cameron, NC, passed away on Wednesday, May 22, 2024 in the comfort of his home.

He was born in Harnett County on February 20, 1934 to the late Frank Carl Matthews and Evie Holder Matthews.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Maybelle Searcy Matthews and brothers, Luther Carter Holder, Dayton Stedman Holder and Neil Edward Matthews.  Floyd retired from Koury Company. He was a faithful member of Rocky Fork Christian Church where he served in many capacities.

Mr. Matthews is survived by his wife, Linda Macormic of the home; sister, Dorothy Matthews Holder and husband, Edgar; brother-in-law, Steven Todd Searcy and nieces and nephews, Gary Carter Holder and wife, Marcia, Anthony Lawrence Holder and wife, Crystal, Elizabeth Matthews Carroll and husband, Danny, Debbie Holder Bass and husband, Jeffrey, Teresa Holder Daniels, Dorothy Renee Holder and David Edward Matthews.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, May 27, 2024 at 3:00 PM at Rocky Fork Christian Church with Rev. Phillip Hare and Rev. Gary Ashley officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends following the service in the fellowship hall.
