Faye (Johnson) Sprinkle

Faye Johnson Sprinkle, age 82, of Lillington, NC, (formerly of Raleigh, NC) passed away Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at her home.

She was born in Wake County, NC on July 29, 1939 to the late Ralph Avril Johnson and Lula Mae Marks Clark. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband James “Jim” Sprinkle.

Faye was a long-time member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church in Raleigh, NC and worked many years for the State of North Carolina in various departments throughout her career.  She was a 1956 graduate of Deep River High School and attended Campbell University.  Faye was an excellent basketball player and played for both Deep River and Campbell.  Faye moved to Lillington, after living many years in Raleigh, to be closer to her family.  She loved spending time with family, especially her children and grandchildren.

Faye is survived by her children Tim Sprinkle of Florida, Jamie Sprinkle Walker and husband Jon of Lillington, NC, and Tom Sprinkle and wife Judy of California; beloved sister Gayle Hines of Raleigh; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held Monday, December 6, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Zion Christian Church with Pastor Eric Garner officiating.  The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall following the service.
