Eva Bell Sloan Coleman, age 95, of Sanford, NC, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 4, 2026, at Liberty Commons of Lee County, with loved ones by her side.
Eva was the daughter of Frank Creech Sloan and Mary Patterson Sloan. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Lee Coleman, as well as her brothers Frank Sloan, Lewis Sloan, Ralph Sloan, Bobby Sloan and her sister Doris Norris.
Eva loved everyone. She loved Liberty Commons and for the last four years, it has been her home. She loved the staff and residents there and tried to take care of everyone. She was considered the “Mayor of Liberty”.
Eva worked many years at W. Koury Co. and Green Valley Florist. She is survived by her daughter, Loraine Sloan Womack; grandson Robbie Womack and wife Shannon from Raleigh, NC; great-grandsons Landen, Hudson and Nash Womack - they were her pride and joy. She is also survived by step-son, Percy Coleman and wife Allison from Princeton, NC; step-grandchildren, Olivia and Ben Coleman; several nieces and nephews (that she considered her own) and friends and staff at Liberty Commons. She loved to be spoiled-rotten and treated special, and she was.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, April 7, 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home. The funeral service will be Wednesday, April 8th at 2:00 PM at Mt. Pisgah Presbyterian Church with Rev. Doug Houston officiating. Burial will follow at Olivia Evangelical Church Cemetery (formerly, Olivia Presbyterian).
