Eunice Weathers Martin, age 92, of Sanford, NC, passed away peacefully Monday, July 29, 2024 at her home, with her family by her side.
She was born in Harnett County, NC on September 15, 1931 to the late Grover Linton Weathers and Bessie Weathers Taylor. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband John Gaston Martin; brothers, Grover Weathers, James Weathers. Sister, Vashti Stewart and grandson Alan Martin.
John & Eunice were the owner/operator of J & J Vending company, where she still continued to work part time until her death. She was a loving caregiver. Her Sunday lunches were enjoyed by her family and friends because of her good cooking. She was a devoted Christian and a life-long member of Swann Station Baptist Church. Her biggest joy were her grandchildren and great-grand children. Her life was a testament to her faith and family. She will be missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her sons, Dickey Martin (Toni) of Sanford, Jimmy Martin (Harriet) of Sanford; daughters Donna M. Wicker (Rick) of Sanford, Sandra M. Rocks (Dennis) of Sanford; brother Harold Weathers (Helen) of Sanford and special niece Jancie Richardson. She was a beloved granny to 8 grandchildren; Stacey Walters, Jennifer Chandler (Tripp), Elizabeth Register, Maggie Womble (Seth), Jonathan Martin (Christina), Dennis Rocks, II (Amber) Ashton Rocks; great-grand-children, Grace Walters, Mallie Walters, Lilly-Ann Walters, Owen Register, Lawson Register, Oaklyn Register, Millie Womble, Allie Womble, Martin Womble, Michael Rocks and Augustus Martin.
The family will receive friends Wednesday July 31, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Bridges Cameron Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be Thursday August 1, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Swann Station Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Johnson and Rev. Russell Blackmon officiating. Burial will follow at Cameron Grove Cemetery.
