Elsie Douglas Stovall, age 85, of Sanford, passed away on Sunday, June 1, 2025 at Parkview Retirement Center.
She was born in February, 1940 to the late Clyde Elmer Douglas and Mamie Godfrey Douglas. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, George Patterson, James “Jim” Britt and Henry Stovall; grandson Jason Scott Thomas and sisters Linda Douglas and Wilma (Bill) Douglas.
Elsie worked many years at Coty. When not spending time with loved ones, Elsie could be found with her hands in the soil, tending her beloved garden, or exploring antique shops She was a true people person and had a heart for others. Her greatest joys in life were her family and her faith. A devoted follower of the Lord, she leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and joy, and will be forever cherished.
She is survived by her loving daughter Sherry Thomas and husband Danny of Sanford; granddaughter Crystal Whitaker and husband Nick; three great grandchildren and brother Carl Douglas and wife Ida Jean of Sanford.
The family will receive friends on Friday, June 6, 2025 from 1:00 PM until 1:50 PM at Bridges Cameron Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM with Pastor Pearl Castleberry and Dr. Gail Dickens officiating. Burial will follow in Buffalo Cemetery.
