Edward Thomas Hall, age 86, of Sanford, NC, passed away on Monday, June 4, 2018 at Central Carolina Hospital.
Ed was a Lee County native from the Lemon Springs area. He left the farm life in 1948 and enlisted in the US Army. While in the military, he married Hannelore Hall and they had five children. After retiring from the military, he attended Sanford Business College and graduated with an Associate Degree in Accounting. Ed was employed at Cornell Dubilier for six years in the Industrial Engineering Department. He left Cornell for a job at Trion, Inc. After 10 years at Trion, he retired and built Hidden Pond Mobile Home Park. Ed was a life member of the Disabled American Veterans, Veterans of Foreign Wars, past member of American Legion and a member of Wayside Presbyterian Church.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents, Fletcher Everette and Mina Hall Everette; a son, Edward Phillip Hall and a daughter-in-law, Karen M. Hall.
He is survived by three sons, Donald Ray Hall and wife, Mandy of Wilson, Vernon Lee Hall of Sanford and Kenneth Gerald Hall of Weaverville; one daughter, Vera Hall Batchelor and husband, Jerry of Sanford; four brothers, Elbert D. Hall and wife, Jackie of Sanford, Fletcher Everett, Jr. and wife, Peggy of Cameron, Robert W. Everette and wife, Jean of Sanford and Billy G. Everett of Sanford; one sister, Joanne E. Dover of Sanford; special friend, Mae Dunlap; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, June 11, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Thomas officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
