Edmond Lee Garner, age 90, of Sanford, NC, passed away Tuesday, June 2, 2026 at his home, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in Hoke County, NC on November 25, 1935 to the late Alexander Garner and Callie Hall Garner.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Myrtie Coe Garner and siblings Murdock Garner, Thomas Garner and Paul Garner.

Mr. Garner was the owner and operator of Garner Roofing for 54 years, working alongside his two sons Douglas and Danny.  He was an active member of New Covenant Community Church and in his younger years enjoyed fishing.  He still loved planting his garden and mowing his yard.  He was a tough worker yet a loving, generous and kind man who put his family first.

He is survived by his sons Douglas Edmond Garner and wife Caroline, Danny Lee Garner, Sr. and wife Laura; sisters May Hudson, Ruth Kelly, Martha Johnson, Mary Barbour, Judy Watson and husband Wayne, Shirley Gilliam and husband Frank; 5 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Thursday, June 4, 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home.  The funeral service will be held Friday, June 5th at 11:00 AM at New Covenant Community Church with Pastor Douglas Edmond Garner officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
