Edith Hall, age 83, of Broadway, NC, passed away Wednesday, November 27, 2024 at her home, with her family by her side.
She was born in Winston-Salem, NC on July 18, 1941 to the late Thomas Eugene Holder and Hortense Delany Puryear Holder. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her daughter Denise Hall Frederick; brother John Holder; sisters-in-law Nellie Holder and Ruth Holder and son-in-law Roy Holt. Edith was a member of Calvary Church in Olivia where she was active in the choir, vacation bible school, women’s group, and Sunday school teacher. She enjoyed attending church, spending time with her family and friends, taking trips to the beach and mountains, shopping, eating out and anything chocolate. She never met a stranger and always had a smile and a kind word for others.
Mrs. Hall is survived by her husband of 66 years, James Hall; daughters Jamie H. Douglas (Edward) and Sheila H. Gunter (Buster); sons Jimmy Hall (KP), Rodney Hall (Brandi); brother Wayne Holder (Brenda); twelve grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren, and her best friend like a sister Ida Ostrander.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday, December 1, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Calvary Church Olivia with Rev. Curtis Norris officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall following the service.
The family would like to thank her caregivers Ronnie, Julie, Tess and Farah and First Health Hospice for the special care and love shown.
