Dwight McNeill, age 68 passed away peacefully on Friday, June 11, 2021.
Dwight was born in Lee County, NC on April 3, 1953 to the late Alfonso McNeill & Louise Core McNeill of Broadway, NC. He will be remembered by many for his outgoing personality, his priceless sense of humor, and his love for people. He was a loving father and a devoted & loyal friend to those he loved most. He worked with Moen, Inc. for 35 years and was recognized numerous times for his dedication to the company, his impeccable work attendance and his ingenuity. After his retirement at the age of 62 he filled his days with his lifelong passion and gift of working with horses and teaching riding lessons. His love for animals was undeniable, he was a member of the American Quarter Horse Association, and loved to work training a variety of animals and horses. In the years prior to his death, he attended church regularly at Olivia Presbyterian Church & First Presbyterian Church. He loved the Lord Jesus Christ with all of his heart and it showed in his love for people.
He is survived by his son Timothy McNeill, wife Rhonda Holder McNeill and grandson Timothy Blake Howard-McNeill; daughter Debbora Pittman & husband Jason Pittman; His sister Janice Martindale, husband Albert Martindale and niece Dana Martindale.
Although our hearts are filled with sorrow and we miss him dearly we know time will ease the pain. Memories of him already bring smiles to our faces. We are comforted knowing that he is in Heaven and that we will be reunited one day. Until then we will keep his memory alive in our hearts and our deeds. "We know what a good man is because we saw it in him."
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, June 18, 2021 at Olivia Presbyterian Church, Olivia, NC. The family will receive family & friends in the church fellowship hall proceeding the service.
