Dr. Ronnie Wayne Martin

Dr. Ronnie Wayne Martin, 75, of Carthage, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, August 9, 2024 at Randolph Health.

He was born in Lee County to the late Bill Martin and Dorothy Jeffers Martin. Dr. Martin received his PHD from University of South Carolina. He taught social work at both the University of Pembroke, and the University of South Carolina. He also served as the Director of Youth Services for Lee County Social Services during his career.  Ronnie loved animals especially dogs. He bought and sold Antiques & Collectibles. He loved spending time outdoors, and enjoyed the company of his friends. He was preceded in death by a brother, Jerry Martin.

Dr. Martin is survived by a brother, Michael Martin of Sanford; nephew Chad Gary Martin, and niece Angie Martin Narron.     .

A gathering of family and friends will be held Friday, August 16, 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Bridges & Cameron Funeral Home, 600 West Main Street, Sanford, NC 27330
