Douglas" Doug" Blake Brown, age 58, of Sanford, passed away on Sunday, May 24, 2026, at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.
He was born in Johnson County, Iowa on July 14, 1967, to the late Blake Forrest Brown and Jackie P. Johnson.
Douglas, Big "Pa Pa" was a CDL truck driver, proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps, and was a strong supporter of Second Amendment rights. He had a deep love for the outdoors and especially enjoyed hunting and fishing whenever he could. He cherished the time spent with his friends and family and was known as a hardworking man who never hesitated to lend a helping hand.
Above all, he loved freely, lived fully, and will be remembered for his loyalty, strength, and kind heart. May his memory be a blessing to all who knew and loved him. Douglas loved the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and was saved in his faith in December of 2023.
Those remaining to cherish his memory are his wife, Claudine Brown; son, Phillip Barker of Eatonville, Washington; daughter, Erica Crawford (Robert) of Blackshear; Georgia; son Zachary Barker ( Analilia) of ldaho; brother, Adam Brown (Kayla) of Illinois; sisters, Deanna Moczarny (Lloyd) of Illinois and Andrea Hickerson (Robert) of Illinois; grandchildren, Mitchell Lee Rzonca, Patrick Rzonca, Lauren Montoya-Mejia, and Kyle Rzonca; as well as 11 additional grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Friday, June 19, 2026 from 11:30 AM until 12:00 PM at Calvary Church Olivia. The memorial service will follow at 12:00 PM with Rev. Curtis Norris officiating. A reception will follow in the Fellowship Hall.
