Dorothy “Jean” Peele Garner, age 88 of Cameron, NC, passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by those she loved.
She was born in Moore County, NC on May 28, 1936 to the late Luther Martin Peele and Minnie Denny Peele. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Daniel Fred Garner; son Danny Fred Garner; daughter Freda Delise Garner Shaw and brother Clinton Gray Peele. Jean farmed as a child alongside her family and worked many years for Ithaca Industries. In later years, she did home care. She enjoyed NASCAR and cheering on the UNC Tarheels.
She is survived by a granddaughter Cassidy Garner, numerous nieces, nephews and special lifelong friends.
A graveside service will be held at Yates Thagard Baptist Church Cemetery (original/old cemetery), 3250 Niagara Carthage Rd., Whispering Pines, NC on Monday, December 23, 2024 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Robert Thomas officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of your choice in Jean’s memory.
