Dorothy Ragan (Burgess) Tucker

Dorothy Ragan Burgess Tucker, age 90, of Sanford, NC passed away Saturday, October 25, 2025 at UNC Wayne Memorial Hospital in Goldsboro, NC.

She was born in Wake County, NC on October 4, 1935 to the late Sidney M. Burgess and Gracie Elizabeth Ragan Burgess.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband James R. Tucker and sisters Martha Catlette and Essie Burgess Wilder. Mrs. Tucker worked in manufacturing and was a member of Central Baptist Temple in Sanford.

Mrs. Tucker is survived by her sons Ervin Timothy “Tim” Wilder and wife Patty, Mark Wilder; siblings Steven M. Burgess and wife Glenda, David Burgess, Becky Greer and husband Willie and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren along with nieces, nephews and cousins.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, November 1, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Lee Memory Gardens with Rev. David Summerlin officiating.  There will be no formal visitation.
