Dorothy Marie (Brown) Godfrey

Dorothy Marie Brown Godfrey, age 88, of Sanford, NC passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 7, 2018.

Dorothy was born in Harnett County on June 14, 1929 to the late John David Brown and Sarah Patterson Brown.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her two brothers, Duncan Brown and Raymond Brown and by her sister, Lillian McNeill.

She is survived by her husband, Edward D. Godfrey; her son, Edward D. Godfrey, Jr and his wife, Valerie of Sanford; three grandchildren, Jonathan Godfrey, Samuel Godfrey and Joseph Godfrey.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 10, 2018 from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM in the multi-purpose room at Holly Springs Baptist Church.  The funeral service will follow at Holly Springs Baptist Church at 2:00 PM with Rev. Scott Yow and Rev. Jerry Parsons officiating.   Burial will be in the church cemetery.
