Doris R (Lane) Maddox

Doris Lane Maddox, age 100, of Sanford, NC, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 4, 2025.

She was born in Robeson County on June 24, 1924 to the late James Lane and Maude Campbell Lane.  In addition to her parents, She was preceded in death by her husband Freddie L. Maddox, brothers George Lane, James Lane, Jennings Lane sisters, Frances Lucero, Louise McKay, Ruth Boyer, Vergie Lane Douglas son; Tommy Lewis Maddox, grandsons Tommy Lewis Jr., and  Harley Welch,  daughter in law Cheryl Maddox, son- in- law David Osborne.

Doris was a loving and devoted mother, wife and grand-mother. She was a lifetime member of Morris Chapel United Methodist Church. She will be remembered for her sweet gentle spirit, her love and caring for others, and devotion to her family and church.

Doris is survived by her sons Don Maddox ( Gail) of Sanford, NC; Mike Maddox of Bennettsville, SC; daughters June Osborne, of Sanford, NC; Marilyn  Bellamy ( Ralph) of Sanford, NC; Phyllis Maddox  of Virginia Beach, VA; grandchildren, Tracy Plumley (Carl), Tonya Helgesen (John), Summer Roberson, Billy Maddox( Stephanie), Kevin Maddox ( Pam) Justin Pearl ( Mary), Ariane Cooley ( Nate), Jasmine Maddox, Johnnie Bellamy, Tracy Byrd. Several great and great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at Bridges and Cameron Funeral Home Chapel  on Thursday, May 8, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 1:50 PM.  The funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM with Rev. Mike Edwards officiating.  Burial will follow in the Morris Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery.
