Doris Evon (Holland) McKinney

Doris Holland McKinney, age 90, of Cameron, NC, passed away Friday, March 15, 2024 at the FirstHealth Hospice House in Moore County.

She was born in Ludowici, GA on September 26, 1933 to the late Willie Holland and Rosa Higgins Holland.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son Lannie Lee McKinney, Sr. and grandchildren Ronald Moody, Stacy Holland and Rosa Speagle.  Mrs. McKinney was a loving homemaker and raised 8 children.  She enjoyed cooking for family and friends and was an excellent cook.  She will be missed by everyone who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her husband, of 66 years, John David McKinney; children Eddie Holland, Sue Gibson (Mac), Mary Stubbs (Dan), Betty Speagle (James), Linda Brown (Gary), David McKinney (Ashley); John Hamilton (Kristy); 19 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Monday, March 18, 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home.  The funeral service will be Tuesday, March 19th at 11:00 AM at Cameron Hill Presbyterian Church with Dr. John Roberson officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
