Doris Olive (Medlin) Holder

Doris Olive Medlin Holder, age 93, of Sanford, NC, passed away Wednesday, November 1, 2023 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital.

She was born in Moore County on August 4, 1930 to the late Kenneth Medlin and Katie Goodman Medlin.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Arnold Webster Holder; daughter June Flemming and siblings Steven Medlin, Roger Medlin, Curt Medlin, Richard Medlin, Virginia Medlin Lane and Gertrude Medlin Crisp. Doris was a graduate of Cameron High School and worked as a seamstress for Koury Company.  Doris was proud of her singing ministry.  Years ago, she sang in a church quartet and they sang in other churches and on the local radio station.  She was a loving member of Pineywood Baptist Church and a proud member of the church choir.  Doris loved her family, especially her grandchildren Hillary and Brooks.

She is survived by her son Eddie Holder and wife Lynda of Poquoson, VA; grandchildren Hillary Flemming Fetch, Brooks Patterson Holder and two great-grandchildren Tracy Summer Holder and Eleanor Victoria Holder.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday, November 7, 2023 at 12:00 PM in the chapel of Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home.  There will be no formal visitation but you may visit with the family following the service.
