Donald Rufus Suddarth, II

Donald Rufus Suddarth II, age 53, of Sanford, NC, passed away suddenly on Thursday, June 6, 2024.

Donnie was born in Lee County on September 4, 1970, to Donald R. and Joan C. Suddarth.  He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Richard F. and Betty Suddarth and Cecil C. and Nellie Craig.  Donnie graduated from Lee Senior High School in 1989 and earned an associate degree in Tool and Die Making and Welding at CCCC.

He is survived by his wife Sandra Suddarth, daughters Ashton Nicole Suddarth, Hayley S. Haithcox (Matthew), his parents Donald R. and Joan C. Suddarth, sister Pamela S. Wandrey (Ken), nephews Alex and Nate, sister Laura S. Spivey (Greg), nieces Lindsay and Addison. Survived also by many other family members and close friends he loved dearly.

Donnie was a family man who loved his wife deeply for 29 years and his two girls were his greatest joy.  He loved the Lord and was willing to share the good news with anyone who needed hope and encouragement for life’s challenges. He was a very creative and skilled carpenter, multitalented entrepreneur, self-starter and wasn’t afraid to try new career paths. Loved nightly walks with his wife and spending time at the beach with his family whenever he could. Their Dachshunds were the extra children that will miss his love and snuggles.  Donnie had a big, loving, fun personality that would light up any room.  Known for his expressive fun stories, quick wit, unmistakable belly laughs and big hugs.  Never meeting a stranger, he couldn’t help; his humble nature was truly one of a kind. Donnie will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

The family will receive friends on Sunday June 9th from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Bridges and Cameron Funeral home. A funeral service will be held Monday, June 10th at 11:00 a.m. at New Life Bible Church, Sanford NC. Burial to follow at Buffalo Cemetery.
