Dianne Phillips Backlund, 72, of Sanford died Monday, October 2, 2023 at Angel House Care Center in Whiteville.

She was born in Lee County on April 8, 1951 to the late Edward “Bill” Phillips and Jean Parrish Phillips. Dianne was also preceded in death by her husband Ray Backlund.

She is survived by her son, Billy Backlund and Veronica of Siler City; her daughter Paula; a sister Connie Frazier and Freddie of Sanford; several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 11, 2023, from 5 to 7PM at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home. No services planned beyond this gathering.
