Dennis T. Fore Jr, age 75 of Sanford, NC passed away on Wednesday, May 21, 2025 at Central Carolina Hospital surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on September 12, 1949 in Lee County to the late Dennis T. Fore, Sr. and Nora Carter Gales. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepfather Fletcher Gales and his brother Arnold Lynn Carter Sr, and his wife Betty Lou.
Dennis graduated from Greenwood where he played football. He was a devoted husband to his wife of 56 years Bonnie C. Fore and a loving father, grand-father and great grand-father. Dennis was a long-time member of Hillmon Grove Baptist Church where he volunteered in the nursery for many years. He worked at Fort Bragg for 28 years prior to retiring and taking on what he loved most, babysitting his grandchildren. His family was very important to him and he made sure everyone knew they were important to him.
He is survived by his loving wife Bonnie; son Dennis T. Fore, III (Debbie); daughter Kristie Fore Godfrey (Randy); grandchildren Colby and Austin Godfrey, Morgan Clark (Aaron), Cameron Whitehurst (Ashley); great-grandchildren Nathan, Jack, Lorelai Clark and Oliver Whitehurst; brother Jerry Fore (Pamela); sisters Muriel Carter (late husband Buddy), Linda Hall (late husband Weldon), Polly Gilmore (late husband James “Skeet”) and Kay Booher (Tom).
The family will receive friends on Monday, May 26, 2025 from 1:00 PM until 1:50 PM at Hillmon Grove Baptist Church. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM with Rev. Wayne O’Quinn officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
A special thank you to the Imaging and Outpatient Nurses, Ultrasound Technologist and Radiologist at First Health Moore Regional Hospital for their love and compassion shown to Dennis during his weekly procedures over the past year. Also, a thank you to the Emergency Room nurses at Central Carolina Hospital who also displayed care and concern.
