Debra "Susan" Angel

Debra “Susan” Angel, age 60, of Sanford, NC, passed away Tuesday, June 17, 2025 at her home.

She was born in Lee County on May 14, 1965 to the late Johnny Monroe Angel and Helen Smith Angel.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Johnny Ray Angel and sister Helen Anne Angel. 

Susan worked many years at Static Control Components.  She loved her family, especially her grandchildren.  She also loved her fur-babies “Popsicle” the guinea pig and “Rocky” the dog.  She graduated in 1984 from Lee Senior High School.  Susan was loved by many and never met a stranger.  Everyone fondly called her “Nanny”.  She will be missed.

She is survived by her daughters Angel Sue Barrett, Heather Marie Barrett; sister Sharon Angel (Wesley Gray); grandchildren Brianna Nicole Ray Barrett and Destiny Debra Anne Barrett; nieces Shannon Brown (Jesse) and Amber Angel (Fabian Torres); nephew Tillman “TJ” Norris (Paula) and great-nephew Timothy John Baker.

A graveside service will be held at Poplar Springs Methodist Church Cemetery on Tuesday, June 24, 2025 at 10:00 AM with Rev. Darryl Barrett officiating.
