David Earl Casey, age 61, of Sanford, NC, passed away Sunday, May 15, 2022, at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital, surrounded by his family.
He was born in Wake County on October 30, 1960, to Donnie Casey and the late Helen Ruth Jones Casey. In addition to his mother, Dave was preceded in death by nephews, Jonathon Casey and Paul Casey.
Dave was a Veteran of the United States Navy. He worked many years in the HVAC industry and proudly earned his degree in Telecommunications, but he was best known for his mechanic skills. His passions included fishing, music, working on cars and woodworking. Dave had many talents over the years, but music and singing were in his soul. He loved making people smile and laugh. Above all, everything he did was driven by the love and devotion he had for his family. Dave fought a long 20 plus years battle with Multiple Sclerosis and refused to let it “whip him”. He was an inspiration to all who knew him for his tenacity and patience in teaching others.
He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Rhonda Newton Casey; his father, Donnie Casey of Sanford; son, David Casey and wife, Lara of Sanford; daughter, Rebekah Pearson and Steven of Florida; grandchildren, Seaman Patrick Pearson, Peyton and Tayah of Florida; brothers, Curtis Casey and wife, Beverly of Washington, NC and Johnny Casey and wife, Tami of Sanford; sister, Donna Casey of Sanford and also several devoted furbabies and grand-furbabies
The family will receive friends on Friday, May 20, 2022, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Saturday, May 21, 2022, at 11:30 AM at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jeff Pierce officiating. Burial will follow in Broadway Town Cemetery.
