Danny Scott Thomas

Danny Scott Thomas, age 69, of Sanford, passed away peacefully after a period of declining health on Saturday, May 16, 2026 at UNC Hospital.

He was born in Lee County, North Carolina to the late Daniel Thomas and Ruby Mae Craig Thomas.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Jason Scott Thomas and brother Russell “Rusty” Thomas.  Prior to retiring, Danny worked as an electrician and carpenter. In his spare time, he enjoyed riding his motorcycle, hunting, and fishing. Most of all, he loved his family and the Lord.

He is survived by his wife, Sherry; daughter Crystal Whitaker (Nick) of Sanford and three grandchildren Nicole Whitaker, Nicholas Whitaker and Jason Scott Thomas, II.

The family will receive friends on Friday, May 22, 2026 from 1:00 until 1:50 PM at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home.  The funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM  in the chapel, with Pastor Pearl Castleberry officiating.  Burial will follow at Buffalo Cemetery.
