Daniel Lewis Thompson

Daniel Lewis Thompson, Sr., age 63, of Sanford, NC, died Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at his home.

He was born in Lee County, NC on December 15, 1957 to the late Buddy Lewis Thompson and Nancy Jean Woods Thompson. His paternal-grandparents Bessie and Frank Bean raised him. Daniel worked in Industrial Maintenance for Sara Lee, National Textiles and Frontier.  He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing and gardening.  He treasured his family and his dog “T-Bone”.

Daniel is survived by his wife Bobbie Jo Stone Thompson; daughter Danielle Villanueva and husband David; son Daniel Thompson, Jr. and wife Heather, Son Tyler Thompson and wife Bailey; grandchildren Sofia, Abigail, Isandro, Dayanna, Madeline, Shanah, his “other child” T-Bone; brother Buddy Ray Thompson and wife Barbara, brother Freddie Thompson and wife Barbara, sister Sally Thompson and husband Jerry, Sister Marie Bright and brother Buddy Lewis Thompson and wife Brenda.  All the family is of Sanford except Marie who is from Dunn.

A graveside service will be held Sunday, January 17, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Carbonton United Methodist Church Cemetery with Chaplain Joel Cameron officiating.

There will no formal visitation but friends may come by the funeral home and pay their respects and sign the register book.
