Clyde Adrian Nicholson, Sr.

Clyde Adrian Nicholson, Sr. age 89, of Sanford, NC, died Monday, March 2, 2020 at FirstHealth Hospice House in Moore County.

He was born in Lee County on November 19, 1930 to the late John Wesley Nicholson and Clyde Cameron Nicholson.   In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his daughter Donna Nicholson Mauldin and brothers Hugh, Johnny and Max Grey Nicholson.  Clyde was a member of St. Andrews Presbyterian Church. He was a wonderful daddy, raising four children and taught them and his grandchildren the value of hard work.  Clyde was known as one of the best tobacco farmers in the area.  He loved listening to his coon dogs run and hunting. 

He is survived by his wife, of 68 years, Hetty Doby Nicholson; sons Kenneth Wayne Nicholson, Clyde Adrian “Buncie” Nicholson, Jr., John Wesley Nicholson and wife Jennifer; sister Barbara Kent all of Sanford; grandchildren Morgan & Paula Mauldin, Adrian Nicholson Maynor and husband Steve, Cameron Nicholson, Carlie Anne Nicholson; great-grandchildren Riley, Remi and Rhetta Maynor. The family wants to give a special thanks to Paula Mauldin for the extra care she provided to their parents.

The family will receive friends Thursday, March 5, 2020 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home.  The funeral service will be held Friday, March 6th at 2:00 PM at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church with Rev. Tom Coye officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
