Clyde Eugene Dalrymple, age 76, passed away peacefully on, Wednesday April 16, 2025 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital.
He was born in Lee County on August 6, 1948, to the late Silas Leroy Dalrymple and Frances Louise Stack Dalrymple. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Mary “Pinky” McNeill Dalrymple, infant son Clyde Benton Dalrymple, brothers Carlton Dalrymple, Raymond Dalrymple, and James Dalrymple.
Clyde was the owner of Clyde Dalrymple Plumbing. He proudly served his country in the US Army, serving two tours in Vietnam War. He was awarded the Purple Heart for wounds sustained in combat, National Defense Medal, Bronze Star, Service Medal, Air Medal, Combat Infantryman’s Badge, just to name a few. He will be remembered for his love for family, especially his grandchildren. He also loved the outdoors, hunting, and woodworking.
Clyde is survived by his sons Chris Dalrymple and wife Mandy, David Dalrymple and wife Amy all of Sanford; brothers Ernest Dalrymple and wife Carolyn and Archie Dalrymple and wife Gloria; sister Sarah Godfrey; grandchildren LeeAnna Swann and husband Adam of Broadway, Bayleigh Dalrymple, Emaleigh Dalrymple, and great-granddaughter Gracelynn Swann.
The family will receive friends Monday, April 21, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home and the funeral service will be in the chapel of Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home Tuesday, April 22, 2025 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Terry Pleasants officiating. Burial will follow at Holly Springs Baptist Church Cemetery with military honors.
