Charlotte (Patterson) Uzzell

Charlotte Patterson Uzzell passed away Saturday, November 11, 2023 in Sanford, NC at the age of 80.

She was born December 2, 1942, to the late Clyde and Janie Patterson.  in Harnett County.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Chester Patterson and her brother-in-law, Hal Kelly.

She is survived by her husband, David Uzzell; her children, Jerrie Carter (Mitch) and Becky Hughes (Jonathan); her grandchildren, April Donithan (Erik), Brandon Carter, Tyler Carter (Kaitlyn), Zach Hughes (Llala), and Joshua Hughes; her great grandchildren, Jayden Donithan, Alexa Donithan, Ryder Carter and Spencer Carter; and sister Judy Kelly.

In her own words Charlotte lived a good, long life with a wonderful family.  She married her high school sweetheart, David, in 1960 and was a devoted wife and mother.  Her grandchildren and great grandchildren brought her great joy, and they adored their “Nana” just as much.  There was nothing she loved more than spending time with them, making them treats and playing games.

Charlotte worked as a nurse, a dental bookkeeper and receptionist, and then as a tax specialist at H&R Block.  Throughout her life she was a strong Christian and volunteered tirelessly for her church, Poplar Springs Methodist.  She cherished her church family and friends and was very thankful for their close-knit community.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday, November 15, 2023, 2PM at Poplar Springs Methodist Church with Pastor Fallon Melvin presiding.  The family will receive friends prior to the service in the fellowship hall at 1PM.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
