Charles “Chuck” Samuel Ralston, age 84, of Olivia, NC, passed away Monday, April 20, 2026 at the FirstHealth Hospice House, with his family by his side.
He was born on August 28, 1941 in Lawrenceville, GA to the late Sam Jones Ralston and Annie Viola Frazier Ralston. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Hilda Cameron Currin Ralston and grandchildren Robert E. McCune, III and Bryan Matthew McCune.
Chuck served our country in the United States Army, serving three tours in Vietnam. He attended Olivia Evangelical Presbyterian Church. He loved his family and enjoyed decorating his yard every holiday for his family and neighbors to enjoy. Chuck was a great cook, where he learned while serving in the Army.
He is survived by children Joanna Ralston, Deborah Ralston Hunt, Karen McCune (Robert), Claudia Pace (HT), Denise Thomas (Ronnie), and Irvin Randolph Currin, Jr. Chuck’s siblings fondly called him “Buck” and they are Charlotte Reeves, Louise Sibley, Martha Bates, Paul Ralston (Lynn) and Lee Ralston (Betty). Grandchildren include Traci Collins, Todd Pace (Stephanie), Patrick McCune (Heidi), Phillip McCune (Meta), Shannon Williams (Anthony), Charles Thomas (Haley), Randy Giatino (Lisa), Cameron Currin (Alicia). Great-Grandchildren are Hallie Collins, Alexis Smith (Dylan), Blair Pace, Nash Pace, Kelsey McCune, Joshua McCune, Samantha McCune, Jessica McCune, Morgan McCune, Michael McCune, Harper McCune, Jackson McCune, Noah Thomas (Taylor), Knox Thomas, Channing Thomas, Landon McDonald (Makayla Maddox), Madison Giatino, Mason Giatino and great-great-grandchildren Braison Smith, Cash Smith, Elliott Smith and Lakelynn McDonald.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the home of Todd & Stephanie Pace, 4649 Colon Road, Sanford, NC 27330.
