Charles Barrett Ellis, 67, husband of Diana Cameron Ellis, passed away peacefully of Alzheimer’s on Saturday, August 16th, 2025, at his home.
Born May 18th 1958, in Sanford, North Carolina, he was the son of the late Johnny Russell Ellis and Carolyn Barrett Ellis. After high school, Chuck worked for Trion before beginning a long and fulfilling career with GKN. As a draftsman engineer his work took him around the world, where he built lasting friendships in places like Brazil, Poland, and Germany. His career was marked not only by accomplishment, but by the warmth and connections he shared wherever he went. For more than 25 years, he dedicated himself to his craft with pride and commitment. To know Chuck was to love him. His kind heart and cheerful spirit touched everyone he met. He was a friend to all and loved others as if they were his own family. Chuck’s greatest pride was being a father to his son, Cody Cameron Ellis. As an avid sportsman, he cherished the years spent coaching and supporting Cody throughout his football and baseball seasons. Chuck also had a deep love for animals, dedicating many years to raising horses, chickens, cats, and dogs on the family land and in the barn he proudly built himself. Together, Chuck and Diana built a beautiful life grounded in love, hard work, and unwavering devotion to one another.
