Charles Andrew Hickman

Charles Andrew Hickman, age 68, of Sanford, NC, died Saturday, July 20, 2019 at his home.

He was born in Lee County, NC on April 27, 1951 to Posie Lee Hickman and Margie Kellam Hickman.  His father preceded him in death along with two sisters Evelene Brafford and Geraldine Yates.  Charles was a brick mason and owned and operated Charles Hickman Masonry for many years.  He received a lifetime deacon recognition at Grace Independent Baptist Church in Olivia and loved the UNC Tar Heels and fishing.  His favorite pastime was hosting his pig pickens and having family and friends over.

In addition to his mother he is survived by his wife Kathy Marie Whitaker Hickman; sons Charles Andrew “Charlie” Hickman Jr. and wife Crystal of Sanford, Brian Lee Hickman of Sanford; daughter Rhonda Ann Stevens and husband Michael James Stevens of High Point; brother Richard Lee Hickman of Sanford and four grandchildren Brittany Lynne Stevens, Amanda Michelle Stevens, Collin Andrew Hickman and Chaslyn Faith Hickman. 

The family will receive friends Tuesday, July 23, 2019 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home and the funeral service will be Wednesday, July 24^th at 11:00 AM in the chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Gene Thomas, Pastor Charles “Charlie” Hickman Jr. and Rev. Darrell Wood officiating.  Burial will follow at Buffalo Cemetery.
