Obituary

Catherine Laurie Taylor Cephas, age 61, of Sanford, passed away on Thursday, November 17, 2022, at Sanford Health and Rehabilitation after a period of declining health.

She was born in Williamsburg, Virginia on June 9, 1961, to the late Robert Taylor and Bertha Johnson Taylor. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Cephas was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters. Before moving to Sanford in 2004, she was a resident of Philadelphia Pennsylvania and attended Bok Technical High School. She enjoyed reading and a nice cup of tea. Mrs. Cephas studied the Bible and was baptized in the Jehovah Witness faith and believed in Jesus Christ as her savior. She will be dearly missed.

Mrs. Cephas is survived by her loving husband, Edward Cephas; son, Edward Cephas, Jr. of Sanford; daughters, Lashawne Smith and husband, Michael of Sanford and Carla Cephas of Sanford; sisters, Alice Johnson and April Taylor both of Maryland and special grandchildren, Laurie Cephas, Michael Smith, Jr., Helena Smith and Khalia Wiley.
