Carolyn (Lanier) Gunter

Carolyn Lanier Gunter, age 80, of Sanford, NC, passed away Friday, September 17, 2021 at Central Carolina Hospital.

She was born in Lee County on November 22, 1940 to the late James Robert Lanier, Sr. and Beulah Mae Smith Lanier.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Billy Ray Gunter and brother Robert Lanier, Jr.  Carolyn worked many years at Federal Spinning.

She is survived by her sons Charles Gunter and girlfriend Paula of Sanford and Tracy Gunter and wife Shannon of Sanford; four grandchildren Chad, Dexter, Ashley and Joshua and three great-grandchildren Brandon, Blake and Dallas.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 19, 2021 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home.  The funeral service will follow on Monday, September 20, 2021 at 1:00 PM in the chapel at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Thomas officiating.  Burial will follow in Moncure Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will also receive friends at the home of Tracy Gunter, 1576 Lee's Chapel Road, Sanford, NC.
