Carole Davis Obituary

Carole Maxine Himmler Davis, age 78, of Cameron, NC,  passed away Monday, November 1, 2021 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital. 

She was preceded in death by her Mother Hazel (Smith) Himmler and Father John W. Himmler

She is survived by her loving husband, of 62 years, Thomas Davis; daughter Shawn Hickman (Frankie) of Cameron; son Thomas Davis Jr. (Lee Ann) of TX; sister Linda Sills Kudrick (Joe) of MD; brother Terry Himmler (Tomma Jo) of MD; granddaughters Amanda N. Smith (Michael) of Sanford, Kimberly Strange (Michael) of Morrisville, Natalie & Rebecca Zarzabal, of TX;  Grandsons Thomas Z. Davis, of WA, Travis Hickman, of Cameron.  She is also survived by 5 great-granddaughters, 1 great-grandson, and 3 great-great-granddaughters. 

Carole was born and raised in Cumberland, MD. She started her work career following her husband during his 21 years in the Air Force. Carole worked jobs that made sure she was home with her children from before they were in school through the time they were in high school.  Her jobs included local Restaurants, United Van Lines, Teacher’s Assistant at Ramey Air Force Base in Puerto Rico & at Greenwood School NC . After her husband Tom retired from the Air Force she worked for Pope Federal Credit Union ten years starting as a loan officer in the Mortgage Dept then working her way up to serve as President for four years.  Leaving there she attended Central Carolina Community College completing her degree in Business.  Carole worked for Van Groce Real Estate and then opened her own business, Carole Davis Real Estate, retiring from that after 21 years. Carole was a member of Cameron Baptist Church and the Johnsonville Ruritan Club wearing many hats. She also served as a National Director for Ruritan National.  Carole was a breast cancer survivor and courageously fought against Multiple Myeloma for the past 3 years all while still enjoying the outdoors by traveling in their RV and visiting family and friends.  She also loved to read.

The family will receive friends Sunday, November 7, 2021 from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at Cameron Baptist Church and other times at the family home.  The funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM with Pastor Jared McNeill and Pastor Wayne Greene officiating.  The burial will be held Monday, November 8th at 2:00 PM at the State Veteran’s Cemetery in Fort Bragg, NC.
